Upcoming: virus plot!
So next week I have off from school and I'm going to be using that to kick off the virus plot! Okay, it's more of a mini-plot but still. For those who aren't aware of it or need a refresher (hi to all you new people, by the way!), the information about this plot is here.
To summarize: Rosalia's blood contains a deadly virus that's usually contained to just her but will be spread out once she's injured in Caster's attack in the dreamscapes. (Tagging this thread is highly recommended if you want to get your character infected!) This week will be the time for the virus to go through its undetectable dark stage; next week starting March 10 (Sunday), victims may start to notice some weird-looking bruises (see the upper right) on their bodies.
Anyone who goes to the hospital will tip off the staff that the virus has gotten out - more than a few of the doctors there have either dealt with the virus before or been educated on it, so they're prepared to deal with it and get the word out to the city. The antiserum for the virus has been prepped for ages just in case, so everyone infected can be treated and nobody has to die! But since the virus is kind of ridiculously good at surviving, a trip to the hospital is pretty much the only way for a patient to survive for long. And it's important to do it soon, too, since after the most dramatic symptoms start showing up (coughing blood, bloodshot eyes, hemorrhaging, etc.) a victim of the virus has a maximum of three days to live without treatment.
In the meantime, those infected get to enjoy some of the delightful effects including but not limited to:
• mental instability (canon manifestations vary, from agony and abusiveness to hallucinations to straight-up crazy)
• weird bruising (mentioned above)
• fever
• anemia
• muscle pains
• headaches
• low blood pressure
• tumor growth
• more weird pigmentation on the skin
• vomiting blood (during the active stage)
• skin hemorrhaging (during the active stage)
• bloodshot eyes (during the active stage)
TL;DR: nasty virus coming up.We can cure it, we have the technology. The hospital's already prepared to meet it so nobody will die, but next week will definitely see some buzz about the hospital and this one crazy infection a couple people have gotten.

THIS IS WHY WE CAN'T HAVE NICE THINGS.Yeah, sure! The thread's been quiet anyhow so there's a lot of room for handwaving.

Chances are he won't willingly go to a hospital though, not wanting to alarm people with the fact he is a vampire and just the overwhelming scent of the blood in that place would be crazy for him. Which means he would probably end up in the most dramatic symptom stage. Is there going to be a public announcement regarding the virus so people realize what is going on?

That said, if you want to jump in late I don't want to say no, period, but given the progression of the virus I'd say anyone who's contracted the virus and hasn't already gone to the hospital would be in the late stages right now - the really fun parts with lots of blood and being a couple days within death...yeah. If you are up for that, I'm trying to get a hospital log up tonight so that'd be an opportunity to tag in!
