I'd much rather he have not helpless victims, actually! As for his abilities... they're never really clear what it is, just that he does magecraft spells from a book. He's been known to keep people alive even though they should be dead, cast spells on people for them to mindlessly follow him, and summon hoards of tentacle monsters. Erm, but we can probably work out how powerful his spells are and whatnot. So either she could try to draw him out, and it works, and he's defeated, or she could draw him out, and he defeats her, and goes back into hiding. Either works for me!
