❖ MOON CYCLE 203 ❂ 4/22 - 5/03
Phase: New
Weather: Very warm but with some cool breezes. Mostly sunny with a few clouds, but there are a couple of showers that might pop in during the day and night for a few minutes.
Dream Effects: During this AU event, everyone will actually be dreaming of their normal, original lives. For their AU'ed self, these dreams will seem odd, but it will give a sense of deja vu as well. Maybe it will make some start to question and even snap out of their AU self. Either way, it's a great opportunity for the social ranks!
Notes:
That's a very quick list of the highlights. As a reminder, when a character is AU'ed you can completely remake their backstory and relationships. The only caveat is that the character still needs to be IC. If a character had hit a crossroads in their canon life and you want to explore how they would be if they had taken the other path, then that's okay. But if a character is pure evil, you can't suddenly make them the nicest person in the world.
Giant event log. Just a quick reminder that immediately following this post there will be a log made in somarium that will act as both the signal post and as a general post that everyone can thread in. It will span the entire event, so follow the directions at the bottom to place dates and the like in the subject line. This is more for convenience, and you are still welcome and encouraged to make your own posts. Note that the log is only for action threads. Keep all network and dream posts in dreamnet for organization sake!
War times. One thing that was neglected to be mentioned in the preview post was that there is an overall "war time" atmosphere. Although the country they are in is not in danger, there is that underlying sense that people are sent out to battle against other countries. Feel free to use that in your play!
How dreams and the dreamberries fit in. To help further clarify how the whole "dreaming" thing works in this AU, in this setting the concept of dreaming and using a pretty high tech device is considered normal. The dreamberries are still on the characters and is considered one of the newest advancements of magitechnology that is currently becoming a thing. The only "strange" thing about the dreamberries is that it's super spiffy and cool and neat. As for dreaming, the concept of seeing other dreams is also not unusual, likewise entering dreams is not unusual. Thus having dreams and interacting with them should not be an issue.
Festival! While most of the event will be a "Do your thing" sort of deal, starting May 1 there will be a three day festival. Nothing too extravagant, it's a bit more of the traditional "folksy" kind with a bit of Renn faire flair to it. Booths, "sports" games like archery contests and jousting, dances, music, food—it's just a simple occasion for everyone to celebrate the peaceful time while they can. There will be a general log for it made.
Looking ahead. April is coming to a close and May will be here soon. What's in store for that month? ...Dangerous things. Expect zombie apocalypse as our big end for that month. But not before fun summer things!

- Heads up. Just a quick reminder that while we aren't holding normal Activity Checks anymore, we still need to make sure we actually have players interested in the game. May 1st through the 5th we'll have a Check In post for all players to comment in. You just have to provide one link to any type of proof, entry or thread.
- AU event. By now everyone should know of our AU event, and if not, you really should read this. This will be our last AU event so everyone should have fun with it! For a very quick summary of what's happening:
- It's based off of Fire Emblem: Awakening with a few Tales of elements thrown in
- It's a traditional old fantasy setting
- Characters can either be completely AU'ed or be completely aware that this isn't Somarium and everyone is acting weird
- Memories of the event will be retained in its entirety
- There are class/job systems to choose from
- There is a social relationship rank system
- There are standard RPG elements visible (HP/MP bars above people's heads for example)
