Upcoming Host Club Event!
Hey guys, Laena here! I'm running behind on this and intended to have an IC post, but I may have to handwave all the prep work. However, if anyone wants to thread out anything mentioned under the cut, just let me know and I'll be happy to do so!
This post addresses Host Club/Cafe recruitment and thecrazy Valentine's event that will be thrown on Tuesday, February 14.
New characters are more than welcome to participate in either, too!
recruiting all members
We can never have enough members for either the Host Club or the cafe. Characters are free to join either and both provide excellent social CR opportunity. Here's a bit of info for each:
If you're interested, just comment to this post and we can work something out. I know a few people have already spoken to me about their characters, but also comment here. I have to completely redo the OOC information about the Host Club, so having a quick member roll call would be awesome for both the host club and the cafe.
valentine's day masquerade
I have to give a lot of shout outs for Mei and Red for this idea. But as you can expect, this is one crazy but fun event that I think everyone will enjoy. IC time wise, it will start at 6PM, but I'll get the post up earlier in the afternoon. Since it'll hit a school night, backtagging/threading will always be encouraged!
Basically it's a masquerade party but with a very big twist. This is how it works:
That's basically it. I'll have more exact directions on how the threading will work in the actual post, but this should at least give everyone a heads up and give an opportunity for any pre-plotting. There are fliers and invitations sent out via Dreamberry. Again, this is going to have to be handwaved since I'm short on time, otherwise there would have been more of a public announcement.
If anyone would like to have their character help out either during the party or for the prep work, feel free to! It would also be a good chance for any characters curious about the Host Club to try it out and see how Tamaki's crazy works.
If you're worried about your character not willingly joining in the fun, fear not. If you would like your character to just be dragged in, that is totally cool. Just assume one of the NPC helpers ambushed them while passing by and got them there.
As for already established couples, they are more than welcome to join in on the fun. It's a great opportunity to meet new people at least and they can still participate in the random costume/acting fun.
One last thing, the aroma thing will not be happening during this, so no worries about that. Everything should be pretty normal, and as a reminder, no personalities are being switched or anything because of the cards or costumes.

That should be it. If you have any questions about either, feel free to ask!

We can never have enough members for either the Host Club or the cafe. Characters are free to join either and both provide excellent social CR opportunity. Here's a bit of info for each:
- Host Club. This has yet to really officially restart but I'm hoping to at least get the ball rolling this month. But Tamaki has switched the Host Club to be located at the Rose Academy, so it's more like a school club. However, it does double as a kind of "charm school class" so guys and gals can learn the proper etiquette of socializing and being that romantic charmer that everyone dreams of. Though this is mostly for fun and for characters to interact with one another. There are also huge events almost every month, just like the upcoming Valentine's Day one.
- The Cafe. If your character needs an easy job, this is it. Cooking, cleaning, entertaining, or just waiting on the tables—all positions are always open. The cafe is one of those quaint little things and is very relaxed. Characters are allowed and encouraged to interact with their customers, and Host Club members are free to use the cafe for practice in a practical setting. Anyone can also use the cafe for post settings. This goes for anyone working there or just eating there. I have some information about it here on his journal that provides more technical specifics.

Basically it's a masquerade party but with a very big twist. This is how it works:
- Pick a card, any card. Upon entering, characters will have to pick a card. These cards will be completely random. Each will depict a certain role type. The full list will be on the actual event post, but to give you an idea, here are some examples: Prince/Princess, Knight, Gypsy, Pirate, etc. There will be an RNG link that you guys can use to determine which role your character gets, or you can choose yourself. Note: So that we're clear, no personalities are changed. Characters will have to use their own talents in trying to act the part out. They also don't have to play the traditional personality archetype for that role. They can play it however they want. Of course they can also just forget about the acting and be their normal selves, but that's not as fun.
- Costumes with a mask. After their card is picked, friendly little helpers will instantly drag them into changing rooms and somehow or another get them in the costumes. These costumes will match whatever role they picked on the card. They are also given masks to hide/obscure their faces, though characters are still free to recognize whoever it is they're speaking with. I leave it up to your imagination how they actually look.
- Flirt it up. After getting all dressed up, characters must now interact and flirt with one another while acting out their role. Like I mentioned before, they don't strictly have to, but it would be more amusing if they at least tried. The ultimate goal is to find a partner before the end of the night, but this is also a great opportunity to meet new characters and form interesting CR if a character isn't that keen on actually finding a partner.
- Grand prize. Those that do form a couple (or at least get a date for the night), will receive vouchers to an exclusive dinner at one of the fanciest restaurants available in Somarium. It's located on the top floor of one of the tallest skyscrapers in the city, so they will have a wonderful view of the city.
This was the closest I could get to the spinning rising platform, sorry Red. - Other activities. Food will be available as well as music and dancing. Though a coat may be recommended, the location of the party will be at one of the luxury hotels which includes a nice garden that characters can also go out into.

Questions: What if your character doesn't have a date cause they dont have much CR?
Will this weeks event of that love air be going on?
Maybe I'll have Gwendolen join the female host Club
no subject
As for the week's event, yes there is a love air thing as well a slew of other things stated on the Moon Cycle. The love air thing won't be at the party, but it is possible for someone to come in while still under the effects if they had been exposed to the aromas earlier.
And awww that would be cute!

Also she technically needs a job, so maybe she can help out around the cafe? I'll have to read up on your journal post for more info, but...yeah that's something I'll definitely look into.
OH and while I've got your attention, I think Shirley still needs a tag on the dreamnet comm. I tried adding one but it didn't work |D;;
no subject
And that would definitely work. There's really not much else to working at the cafe XDD Just put on the uniform and have fun ffff. Tamaki will totally be happy to giving her the job~
I have now added her tag to the comm! Sorry about that.

I know it was ICly discussed between him and Tamaki that he would join the Host Club and work at the Cafe. But I'll like to make it official OOCly as well.
And he would like to also help with masquerade ball as well~ He loves parties, and he wouldn't miss this for the world.
BTW I should probably make sure of something while I'm on the topic. Nokoru was planning to do something on Valentine's day as well. But it'll be much earlier than the masquerade and it shouldn't clash at all.
I wanted to make sure if it was okay for him to do. I don't want to step on toes.

And Nokoru's thing will totally work. I was going to have Tamaki tag it, but I was already tagging with Cid so I felt a little weird ffff XDDD

He could meet Tamaki at the party if you want to set up some kind of meeting that way.

And the Host CLub will be at the school, right? So once it starts, he'd start to go there even if he's not a student?

AKA he wants to join the Host Club, and this is clearly the best place to discuss that. o7
That said, since the Valentine's Day bit is coming up super fast, he probably wouldn't have any major part in this. Likely just watching, helping out where
his wandhe could, and generally making notes as to how things run.no subject
And that all sounds good to me! He should be out enjoying himself with a certain costume designer—I mean stuff.

Also Megu, speaking of outfits, I totally forgot/lost the link to the waitress/waiter uniforms for the cafe OTL Do you still have those? Or if you want to come up with a new design I'd be up for that, too.

He'd rather avoid places filled with people for now. People kind of scare him. A little. Especially strangers. On the other hand it's pretty easy to drag him into everything...
Anyway! I was thinking if maybe Ruca could work at the cafe? Cooking and cleaning is something he can do, talking to people is not.
of course this can be changed; if he knows he has to do something because he promised or this is his job he will do itAs for the ball, I kind of want him to go, but then he'll be one really awkward wallflower... xD;
no subject
But Tamaki would totally be open for him working as a cook and for cleaning. Though Tamaki maaay try to help push him out there a little more in sneaky ways, like working the front or something >>
And it's okay xD He should still go—I'm sure there are ways that you could at least tag others even if Ruca himself may not directly engage with someone. Or if needed, I could have Tamaki push him, but only if you need/want someone to ICly do so.

So, there might be some joy in keeping him in an apron and where others might see him while he works even as he slowly works himself into one giant stress ball of frazzled nerves. It might only last a week, but it could be fun!
