HAPPY 4TH BIRTHDAY SOMARIUM!



And with this signal post, we mark the highlight of the event and the "special present" us mods give to you players.

You're probably wondering about the fate of Somarium, right? Was everything we said before a lie? Did we just troll you guys so hard that this is really just a joke?

Nope. All of this is real and what we said was not a lie. As stated in the previous event posts, everyone will be able to go back to Somarium and there will be a point next month where characters can go out to check the aftermath. We'll save those details for the next moon cycle.

But we have other presents! Nice presents.

Okay actually they're not that great as they're really just updates to pages that really needed to be updated. But we've finished! So here's a list of everything that's been updated:

• Event Timeline updates! Right here. We have completely reformatted and redone the Event Timeline. It's also up to date. It won't be updated for another year. But this is very detailed and pretty much is a blow by blow of everything that happened. Everything. In four years.
  
  
• Game Overview. Right here. In addition we've made a condensed game plot overview because that Event Timeline is huge and makes everyone cry. This is nicer and serves as a good summary of the important things that have happened.
  
  
• NPC page. Because of the change of NPCs, we've revamped the NPC page here.
  
  
• Creatures + Noctaere page. We've also updated this page, and can be found here.
  
  
• Locations Page Update. Because of the new addition of Ob Holm, the Locations page has been updated.

And now a word from your mods.

Laena: Dude, I've been in this game and been it's head mod for four years straight. It's seriously like my own child now and soon it's going to be a rambunctious teenager with what we have in store for it. But I'm very happy to see it come so far and when I think it's been four years since I first apped here with Tamaki...it's just really hard to believe. To think this game was conceived while I was still in college... And I can't stop laughing at the image. I mean seriously I can't—

Though in all seriousness, I can't wait to see how the game continues to develop and grow and decide what we'll blow up next. I mean...uh. Cookie anyone? Okay that wasn't so serious either, oops.

Mart: And yet again, Lae continues to overshadow the rest of us. But that's probably on her job description of head mod somewhere.

God, I still remembering when I joined like it was yesterday. Two of our current players egged me on to get back onto roleplaying — you know who you are — and to try out LJRP for the first time. I was freaking scared in the beginning because it was like a whole new world to me. And yet somehow, through their ceaseless nagging effort, here I am now as a mod, as a player, as an RP-er. I want to thank each and everyone of you, new and old, for making my roleplay experience amazing. It wouldn't be the same if even one of you were missing.

I hope Lae, Mei and I will continue to surprise you with the plans we have in store because if you liked this event... well, it's only the beginning, Somarium. Only the beginning.

Mei: In a little over a month, I will have officially been in this game for two whole years... (aaah... Mei is still a baby thing...) Somarium was my first official LJRP and the first non-OC application I ever wrote. It was so different from what I was used to, and really scary, but then I got accepted and everyone was so welcoming and friendly!

Somarium is forever my home game and my true love. I've met so many inspiring people and made some seriously beautiful memories because of this game. I'm really excited to be modding here! This game and you guys mean the world to me, and I hope that I can help to make being part of this game an amazing experience for you guys as well.

Now come and join in everyone—where are the old players and where are the new ones? Perhaps share a favorite story of your time here.

And since today is a special day, we're opening the post to old players who may no longer play the game! So if you're an old Som player no longer in the game but want to say something in memory of your time here, go ahead!

This place holds a special place in my heart, I grew up in Somarium! I was new to LJRP around 2009 or so, then I first came to Somarium in January 2010. I couldn't find a better home. While I dropped a couple of times before, I always end up running back to this place, because of immense nostalgia, friendly people, amazing crosscanon CR, and there's just no game like Somarium. I've always felt comfortable here, it has that feeling of home; a warm lounge that everyone can sit down in, share hot drinks, and tell stories in front of the fireplace. It's always had that kind of effect on me. I sincerely treasure Somarium because everyone here has taught me so many things. This game evolved my writing skills and undoubtedly helped me to become the roleplayer I am now. I'm really happy to still be here, I love you guys, I love this game, and everything about it. Happy birthday, Somarium!

Posting with my first character's journal... Som was and is my first LJRP, and still very much my home game. I apped in for the Weiss cast, and despite a couple breaks in there due to Stuff, I'm glad to still be around. It's been great ;-;

Aaaah I remember when I first came to Som with Alice. As soon as I came I felt so welcomed and I was instantly involved and so happy to be here. And now I feel like an old foggy, having been here for three years come this December.

What's amazing isn't the fact that Som is my home game, because it's not, but precisely the fact that it isn't. I'll have been LJRPing for two years now, come a few days, and in all that time, I have never been able to make a second game stick--until I apped to Som. I can't even remember the all the games I apped into and then immediately dropped from, sometimes even before I introed. And yeah, the first time I apped I dropped a month later, and the second time I apped I wasn't in any games. BUT. MY POINT IS THAT I AM STILL HERE AFTER THREE MONTHS, EVEN WITH ANOTHER GAME and that is something that hasn't happened before.

Thank you, Mart, for seeing that ad I put up on ATP and harassing the ATLA cast into enabling me. Thank you, Laena, for your weird cookie faces THAT KEEP SPAWNING. Thank you, Mei, for keeping in touch with me even after I dropped from the X cast (TWICE) and just being awesome in general. THANK YOU MY GORGEOUS ATLA/LOK CAST AND MY FORMER CLAMP CAST FOR BEING SOME OF THE MOST AMAZING PEOPLE ON THE PLANET AND GIVING ME SOME OF THE BEST THREADS OF MY LIFE. --oh man I know I've dropped like a year ago when stuff was still on LJRP, but for those who remembers, it's Ruki here, who used to play this golden douchebag at 'rupturedbabylon' and Minato Arisato at 'carpo_vita'. I've moved on since thenand have determined that I am unable to play like more than 3 characters at a time, but I still look back on Som sometimes and sigh nostalgically at the good times had. Somarium's been my second RP, though I will also say without question that throughout my 3~4 years of RPing history, this game had the strongest community spirit. I remember fondly dicking around with everyone on the IRC channel most, and while it's been slow going sometimes, I had a lot of fun, built some amazing CR, and made some really good friends I still keep in touch with to this very day. Soo... even if this is coming out of the blues from an oldie who's already left that no one probably remembers:
