You are correct in that there will be monsters as well! As for capture, unfortunately they cannot, and that likewise goes to being tamed or trained.

However, we have had it where they could be controlled for a limited time. So while they wouldn't be able to go back or last forever, it's possible to have a character with that kind of ability to manipulate them to help fight for a brief period of time.
