Hello, Somarium!

I've got a mod-approved plot event I am looking for volunteers for :) Basically, there's going to be a deadly viral outbreak in May. This will effect anyone who ate at certain restaurants in Somni (in other words, anyone who volunteers to get sick) during the week before the event. The event will start on May 12th and run for no more than a week, perhaps less, excluding back tags, of course :)

So, THE DETAILS:
I'm looking for people to volunteer to get sick. Or, alternatively, if your character is a doctor/healer and you'd like them to help the sick people out, that's awesome, too. People who would try to find a cure are also free to do that as well, and if anyone wants to investigate the virus outbreak we can turn that into a subplot as well. As the plot progresses more details on the virus will emerge and I already have a resolution planned as well. Obviously most of this will take place at the hospital.

Infected People:
The virus is spread through person-to-person contact, which means that new people can get sick during the event. So you are free to volunteer after the plot has started!

The symptoms of the virus will begin to manifest a few days after a character is infected. They are as follows:

• Muscle pain and eventual degeneration, mild at first but it will get worse as the infection progresses. Paralysis will begin to occur over time, the speed of this depends on the person; in other words it's up to you.

• Hallucinations, which will also become more and more frequent as time goes back. Since the virus is attacking the brain, a character may hallucinate about things they've dreamt about, or have worse dreams than usual with worse dream effects.
• And some more symptoms, courtesy of crystallium - Dizziness, numbness and tingling, headaches, memory problems, inability to focus, temors, slurred speach, and confusion.
  

• Basically, each person's infection will be different and you're free to have fun with it and decide which of worse (the muscle pain or the hallucinations) and if it effects your character's dreams or not.
  

Other information:

• Healing magic will slow the virus down, but it won't cure it or stop it.

• Death? This is a deadly virus, but whether or not your character actually dies from it is entirely up to you. Some people's health can deteriorate faster than others, and you can choose to decide if your character survives up until the plot resolution.

uhhh I want to ask about some of the technical aspects of it. You are going to hate me at the end of this. XD

So if it's passed through direct contact that generally means through body fluids and it has a short life span without a host, correct?

And is the muscle pain caused by the virus directly acting on the muscles or perceived pain by the brain effect? So pretty much what's the major effect and what are the side-effects... Does the virus attack the brain or the muscles?

Since it gets to the brain it'll be able to pass through the blood-brain barrier yadda yadda yadda so would it disrupt normal stuff in the brain or would it make it's own stuff that would wreck havoc?

As I'm currently the only one who volunteered for the scientist part this is things I must know... (unsure)

Volunteering Fran as an investigator/doctor (which ever works better). He's not really either, but as a member of the mafia (even if his main forte is assassination)he has SOME detective skills and has a cool head and not prone to panicking. He can also use his illusions to act as a placebo or something since they pretty much mess with the targets minds and senses.

Given that two of his three housemates are getting sick, there's no way Allen's not getting infected. Also of course he would investigate the virus itself before it finally takes its effect on him.
