Hello, Somarium!

I've got a mod-approved plot event I am looking for volunteers for :) Basically, there's going to be a deadly viral outbreak in May. This will effect anyone who ate at certain restaurants in Somni (in other words, anyone who volunteers to get sick) during the week before the event. The event will start on May 12th and run for no more than a week, perhaps less, excluding back tags, of course :)

So, THE DETAILS:
I'm looking for people to volunteer to get sick. Or, alternatively, if your character is a doctor/healer and you'd like them to help the sick people out, that's awesome, too. People who would try to find a cure are also free to do that as well, and if anyone wants to investigate the virus outbreak we can turn that into a subplot as well. As the plot progresses more details on the virus will emerge and I already have a resolution planned as well. Obviously most of this will take place at the hospital.

Infected People:
The virus is spread through person-to-person contact, which means that new people can get sick during the event. So you are free to volunteer after the plot has started!

The symptoms of the virus will begin to manifest a few days after a character is infected. They are as follows:

• Muscle pain and eventual degeneration, mild at first but it will get worse as the infection progresses. Paralysis will begin to occur over time, the speed of this depends on the person; in other words it's up to you.

• Hallucinations, which will also become more and more frequent as time goes back. Since the virus is attacking the brain, a character may hallucinate about things they've dreamt about, or have worse dreams than usual with worse dream effects.
• And some more symptoms, courtesy of crystallium - Dizziness, numbness and tingling, headaches, memory problems, inability to focus, temors, slurred speach, and confusion.
  

• Basically, each person's infection will be different and you're free to have fun with it and decide which of worse (the muscle pain or the hallucinations) and if it effects your character's dreams or not.
  

Other information:

• Healing magic will slow the virus down, but it won't cure it or stop it.

• Death? This is a deadly virus, but whether or not your character actually dies from it is entirely up to you. Some people's health can deteriorate faster than others, and you can choose to decide if your character survives up until the plot resolution.

Volunteering Fran as an investigator/doctor (which ever works better). He's not really either, but as a member of the mafia (even if his main forte is assassination)he has SOME detective skills and has a cool head and not prone to panicking. He can also use his illusions to act as a placebo or something since they pretty much mess with the targets minds and senses.

Investigating works great, actually :) He can be a doctor if you want him to as well, but I've just thought of a whole plot for investigating where the virus supposedly came from and stuff.

He can be an on field doctor for the investigation team if someone gets into contact with the virus or something.

(Though its not really treating or anything, just numbing the pain etc.)

If you want I have this person who has a lot of science knowledge, including medical knowledge (this happens when you live for 1000s of years, though I'm not sure she has a medical degree exactly, it's never explained).

How she and Tony get in touch is one thing...but yeah, she'd be all over helping in a medical aspect or helping to find a cure.

He'd have the knowledge to break down what the virus does, but he just doesn't have the background to synthesise a cure or something like that.

|D I have no idea if Setsuna has the background or not. She works as a Physicist or something at one point and the next she's a school nurse. IDK IF SHE'S JUST DABBLING IN EVERYTHING OR A GENIUS OR WHAT.

But, well, I'm sure with these two they'll make...something.

Well basically, you guys would be trying to find the source of the outbreak. I need to think more about how this subplot will go down and whatnot, but presumably the investigations would involve finding whoever supposedly caused this. I'll leave a lot of it up to you guys, of course, like a dungeon master, and make a post for the investigation.

Roger :|b I'll have to ask Yuli and the others on how the investigation would go on the police end, but would there be any clues? I mean I doubt they would be able to figure it out unless the Avengers team throws suspect on Schmidt but even then it's still iffy (least that's what I think).

Martel will help with the healing stuff, she was the group healer back home and helped with things like this before. granted, she usually got the disease while doing sooo, but she'll have better luck this time! ....probably

Investigators

Kakashi is going to be an investigator because..well he's a ninja and solving stuff like this comes with the territory. Plus I already made him sick once and he isn't really trained much in medical jutsu XD

Mukuro! He is going to be getting sick, but since he will not approve of such a thing he is going to investigate as well. Perhaps even during illness because he's stubborn like that. You've already got his apprentice (Fran) as well so they can be a kind of team.

Doctor

Investigating

Thanks probably to several friends getting sick and investigating themselves (and a few... "acquaintances" at best looking at you Mukuro), Shouichi is going to help however he can to find out information. He's a scientist of a kind, but his field is engineering and he is not quite as awesome as Tony, so he has NO medical help.

He can use his Sun flames to help heal people a little, but I think he'd likely only do that in a dire straight. Otherwise, you have a hacker and a quick mind to help out?
